Raised in nearby Lakota, Rod graduated from the Auto Body School in Wahpeton, ND in 1975. He was employed by others until he opened his own shop.
Since March of 1993, Rod's Auto Body, Inc. has served Michigan, ND and the surrounding area. Rod purchased Maynard’s Ford building at that time, then later bought the Vocational-Agriculture building on the corner, which is currently Rod's Auto Body.
The “One Stop Body Shop” does repairs, painting, windshield replacement, wheel alignments and framework.
Both Rod and his wife have helped on projects including the many Michigan Days festivities and Cans for a Cause – where money from locally recycled cans is used for good causes in the community such as new Christmas decorations for the city, picnic tables for the park, roll-up doors for the Veterans Memorial Building, etc.
As President of the JDA, he was involved in the sale and implementation of Michigan Hometown Foods project, and the recent sales of the Wagon Wheel Bar, the Beauty Shop, and the Barber shop.
“I like working and living in our small community because I know most of my customers (by name) and enjoy helping them out.” says Rod.
Rod's car interests spill over to Nascar races. He owns many Nascar collectibles and decorates his shop with Nascar memorabilia.
Always a smiling face, a loyal Michigan supporter and hometown cheerleader, Rod Fisk and Rod's Auto Body is an excellent asset to our hometown.
